Orbital’s field installation technicians are located across the U.S. to provide installation and maintenance services wherever you need support. Orbital technicians and field supervisors are all company employees – we do not subcontract. All new hire technicians train with our veteran installation technicians and quality control managers to ensure that they have the technical acumen, character, and integrity to uphold Orbital’s standards when they are dispatched solo to the field. Our technicians arrive at deployment sites with the relevant system knowledge, equipment, and advanced work order management and reporting tools to record job progress and status. Our deployment teams have a deep knowledge-base and in-field problem-solving skills, allowing Orbital to quickly adapt to shifting technology trends, customer requirements, schedules, and preferences. We pride ourselves on having an in-house team of committed, professional, and experienced field installation technicians that thousands of fleets count on every year to get the job done right.
Orbital field installation technicians use a customized work order management application for each job using smart phones and other connected devices. With this application, our technicians can access scheduling & dispatch information, specific job details and attributes, and technical reference data. In the field, our technicians use customized mobile forms to document job progress details and job status, capture images, communicate exceptions, execute system verifications, and submit job completion information. Confident in our work quality, and to support complete transparency throughout the installation process, we provide provide deployment stakeholders direct and instant access to all documentation.
At Orbital, we approach each job – be it a local, single unit installation to an enterprise-wide multi-state deployment – with the same level of commitment and detail. No matter the size of the project, there is always some level of project oversight to ensure that the work is executed to Orbital standards and to the standards of our customers. Orbital has the personnel and technology infrastructure to scale project support based on job size and duration.
Based on what we have learned from over 15 years in business, we have been able to build a technical infrastructure to reflect the needs of our fleet technology partners and deployment customers to support even the most stringent data reporting requirements. We start with a custom CRM/work order management system that features smart scheduling and routing, which integrates with in-field data collection and billing systems, and offers customer portal access. Data and images from the field can be sent digitally, in a wide variety of formats, based on customer preferences. Some options include Orbital emails with data and images, online spreadsheets with advanced capabilities, and database access with native picture/PDF preview and editable content. Stakeholders can also receive text/email alerts based on pre-defined triggers. Other advanced reporting features can include real-time project timeline tracking, technician utilization, scheduling efficiency, and trends. Summaries and stats can be generated based on customer-defined categories like location, region, device, or asset type.
At Orbital Installations we take pride in the technical precision our experienced installation technicians bring to every job. Quality is a serious matter for Orbital, so much so, that we require all our technicians to document any work performed in detail with descriptions and images. This detailed documentation allows our QC team to closely monitor technicians’ work. At the start of any project, a QC team member will review work submissions in real-time to ensure technical accuracy, quality, and uniformity across the field. We continue to spot check to ensure that level of quality is consistent for the duration of the project. QC isn’t limited just to projects; we regularly check samples of all jobs completed across our business. Errors are flagged and addressed directly with the tech, to provide coaching on what could have been done better and why. Since all our techs are Orbital employees, we have multiple methods of informing the field of best practices, and any changes to industry or customer standards. Orbital will also implement any special customer procedures or practices.
Orbital’s job doesn’t stop once an installation is completed, nor does our level of service and commitment. We offer service calls for troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, de-installation of a non-working unit, and installation of a new working unit as required. Please Contact us for more details.
